Wendy Hernández

Physical Therapy

UNIDEP
Tijuana

Let me introduce myself.

My name is Wendy Estefanía Hernández Rodríguez. I am 17 years old and was born in Rincón de Romos, Aguascalientes, on August 23, 2008. I am currently in my sixth semester at the Primo Tapia campus, studying Hospitality Services, and I am about to graduate. I recently enrolled at UABC in Mexicali — I would have preferred something closer to home, but the Physical Therapy program I want is only offered there. I am now preparing for the entrance exam, working hard to pass it and move toward my dreams.

I am also working at a restaurant to save money for university expenses. My parents help me, but I contribute financially as well, since we are five siblings. As I mentioned, we are originally from the south and have been living here for almost five years. It was difficult at first financially, but we received help from others — including, thank God, with our home, where we currently live. We have grown thanks to that support.

I enjoy spending time with my family, playing sports, being with my pet, and studying. There are things I don’t always understand right away, but I learn quickly. Right now, my main focus is preparing for and passing the UABC entrance exam.

Receiving this scholarship would be an enormous help. I would be deeply grateful, because it would be a meaningful support for my studies and an investment in my future. My parents inspire me greatly to continue on to university — their advice, along with encouragement from others, motivates me to work even harder.

Once I pass the exam, I plan to dedicate myself fully to each subject and even take an English course. Transportation and housing will be challenges to figure out along the way, but I am ready for them. In the future, I would like to have my own physiotherapy practice — and to be recognized for my hard work, for treating clients with care, providing excellent service, and delivering real results.
