Hello, my name is Emily Rose Jauregui Mora.

From a very young age, I felt curious about how the body and mind work. Seeing how a doctor could change an entire family’s life awakened in me a calling to serve others — one that now defines my future. I am currently in high school, and one of my greatest desires is to enter university to study Medicine and Psychology, because my dream is to help children with special needs.

I know that the university path will be demanding, both academically and financially. Right now, I am the one responsible for funding my own education through my job. I work hard to save for tuition, books, and materials, but the costs of pursuing two degrees in Medicine and Psychology are very high. My family supports me in every way they can, but financially, the responsibility falls on me.

This scholarship would be a great help in covering my university expenses when I begin college. With this support, I will be able to fully focus on maintaining strong academic performance from the very first semester, without having to compromise my studies due to excessive work hours. My goal is to complete internships in hospitals and special needs centers, and to participate in research projects in pediatrics and child psychology.

I commit to honoring this scholarship with effort, discipline, and results. My goal is not only to earn two degrees, but to return to my community in Tijuana and give back what I have received. It is also one of my purposes to one day repay your support by creating a foundation that provides free medical and psychological services to children and families who cannot easily access them.

That is why I am applying for this scholarship: so that the curiosity I had as a child can become a career that benefits many. With your support, I will be able to become the doctor and psychologist that so many children need — and in the future, help others just as you are helping me today.
