Déjame presentarme.

My name is Alonso GonzĆ”lez and I am finishing high school. I plan to study Civil Engineering at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California. I have always been drawn to the way cities are built and the projects that allow people to live better — roads, bridges, buildings. I chose this field because I want to learn how to create infrastructure that genuinely improves people’s lives and contributes to the growth of the community.

Receiving a scholarship would mean a real opportunity to continue my studies and move closer to my goals. Beyond the financial support, it would be a source of motivation — a reason to keep pushing and to prove that I can make the most of what I’m given.

The main obstacle I’ve faced is financial. While I study, I am always looking for ways to help out and generate some income. On weekends I sell clothing, which has taught me responsibility, money management, and how to work with people. It has also built discipline in me and given me a deeper appreciation for what it actually takes to reach a goal.

My dreams for the future are to finish my degree, become a skilled civil engineer, and take part in projects that contribute to my community’s development. I would like to work on infrastructure that helps improve cities and the quality of life of the people in them.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to apply for this scholarship. For me, it would represent an important step — toward my education, and toward everything I hope to build.
